Odoo 9: Database Manager.

Today we're gonna look at Odoo Database Manager.
The database manager using web interface to handle all the functions, thus, make it easy to novice or expert user.
It was quite simple but very effective to handle database or databases for personal or business.

First : Master Password.
Master password is very important in odoo database manager because all the functions in the database manager will use later including create, backup, restore, duplicate and even delete database.
Therefore, it is very critical to remember  and save your password in a safe place.
After installing odoo 9 on windows or even linux machine, please make sure the master password been change or else the default master password is "admin".
So, you must click "Set Master Password" button.

Then fill in your:

- Current Master Password.
- New Master Password.
And click continue. Don't forget your master password or else you must uninstall and install back your odoo software because no system for retrieving back the forgotten password.

Second : How To Create Database.
Click at "Create Database" button.

Then fill in your:

- Master Password.
- Database Name.
- Password of admin user.
By clicking in "Load Demonstration Data" checkbox, odoo software will give you the demo data for the database.
And upon clicking continue,the new interface will show you the odoo settings and applications.

Third : Backup the Database.
Click at "Backup" link.

Then fill in your Master Password.

Database Name will be auto fill there.
The default backup format is zip (includes filestore) that can restore back later if anything happen to your database.
If you choose pg_dump custom format (without filestore), you cannot restore back later the database using Restore method in odoo database manager.
Click "Backup" button and you are ready to go.
The time depend on the size of the database. It will take a longer times if the database are big but less if small enough.

Fourth : Restore Database
Click at "Restore Database" button.

Then fill in your Master Password.

Click "Choose File" button and choose the odoo backup file that you backup using step before [backup format is zip (includes filestore)].
Lastly create new database name by filling in Database Name field.
Click button "Continue".
The time also depend on the size of the database.

Fifth : Duplicate Database
Click at "Duplicate Database" button.

Then fill in your Master Password.

Database Name will be auto fill there.
Fill in new database name by filling in New Name field.
Click button "Continue".
The time also depend on the size of the database.

Sixth : Delete Database.
Click at "Delete Database" link.

Then fill in your Master Password.

Database Name will be auto fill there.
Clicking the "Delete" button will delete the choosen database. So make sure you don't wrongfully choosen specified database.
